Barefoot Books Review & Giveaway (Open to US & Canada) **CLOSED**

If you have been reading my blog for awhile, then you know how much Tobin and I love to read. We have a library full of books and children's books is our favorites! Lately I have been trying to find more of a variety of books that will appeal to Tobin and I feel like I hit the jackpot when I discovered Barefoot Books.

I was so excited when Barefoot Books allowed me the opportunity to review three great children's books. We received I Wish I Were a Pilot Board Book, Cleo's Color Book Board Book, and The Journey Home from Grandpa's.

I Wish I Were a Pilot

Wish your way through race car tracks, wavy seas and even star-filled space. Travelers of all sorts are featured in this imaginative book that includes educational notes about each of the modes of transportation featured in the rhyming text.

This was Tobin's favorite book and we have read it over and over again. Each page there is a different mode of transportation and the rhyming words make this book fun and easy to read. The sentences aren't too long so they help keep Tobin's attention. The colors and illustrations are colorful and bright. We love this book and I could never get sick of reading this book over and over (which is good since Tobin insists we read it each day). It has also helped Tobin learn lots of new words!

Cleo's Color Book

Come along with Cleo as she discovers colors in the world around her. Rhyme and repetition drive the learning layers, while two double-page spreads at the end reinforce the color recognition and even teach simple color mixing.

This book was also a lot of fun to read since it has rhyming words and short sentences. It kept Tobin's interest and on each page it talks about a different color and at the end you go over all the colors you learned. This is a great way to teach your child about colors and this has really helped Tobin become even more familiar with his colors. This is a great book and there are several other Cleo Books and I can't wait to get those too!

The Journey Home from Grandpa's

Hop in the yellow car and look out for all the other forms of transportation on the way home from Grandpa's. A beautiful, double-page spread at the end features all of the colors and modes of transportation from the story.

Illustrated By: Sophie Fatus

This was a paperback book and it was also a great book to read. The colors are bright and fun to look that. There are a lot more words, but there are a lot of repetition with sentences and certain words which is nice. The words flow together and seem almost like a song. Tobin liked this book okay, but he only liked it when I read it to him where as the other books he loved to look at on his own (as well as have them read to him).

Barefoot Books has a huge selection of books and there is something for every age and many different subjects. If you need gift ideas, they have some great gift sets for every budget. So be sure to check out Barefoot Books, I highly recommend them!
