Blog Anniversary #3 Mrs. Renfro's Gourmet Salsa Review & Giveaway (Open to US & Canada) **CLOSED**

I love food and I especially love spicy food. One of my favorite snacks is salsa. We always have tortilla chips and salsa on hand. Lately though, I have been getting a little bored of my regular salsa. So when I heard about the many varieties and flavors of Mrs. Renfro's Gourmet Salsas, I just knew I had to try it!

Renfro Foods began in the 1940's and has grown over the years at a fast pace. Now their products include more than 29 salsas, sauces, and relishes. They are available at supermarkets, gourmet shops, gift shops, and fruit & vegetable stands in all 50 states, Canada, and the Caribbean.

They have a wide variety of flavors such as three of their new 2009 salsas - Pomegranate, Tequila and Pineapple. The Pineapple Salsa was actually a 2010 Scovie Award first place winner for fruit salsa in the processed salsa category. Coming soon will be their Ghost Pepper Salsa which is sure to be hot!

I was so excited when Mrs. Renfro's Gourmet Salsas agreed to be apart of my Blog Anniversary Event. I got to choose 4 different flavors. There were so many to choose from, but I ended up choosing the Medium Salsa, Peach Salsa, Hot Salsa, and the Garlic Salsa.

Medium Salsa

I usually eat medium salsa so I was interested to see if this was better than my regular salsa. At first glance I could already see that it was better. It was chunkier and I could actually see chunks of tomatoes and the other delicious ingredients that make up this salsa. I got out my tortilla chips and took a bite...Yummy! It was delicious and best of all was that I could taste all of the wonderful flavors of the ingredients. I liked that it was hot, but not too bad. It didn't have a really hot after taste where I had to drink something to get the fire out. Instead, I could savor the different flavors and enjoy the salsa.

Peach Salsa

I have never had any kind of fruit salsa before so I was really interested to see what this would taste like. When I poured the salsa out, I could actually see chunks of peaches! I took a big bite and was in heaven! It has a delicious flavor of sweet and spicy. I could taste a hint of peach, but mostly it was like a kind of sweet salsa. It was delicious and there was a recipe for a yummy chicken recipe on the bottle and I can see how this would make some great recipes, but I never tried any because the salsa was ate up way too quickly! This was definitely my favorite salsa.

Hot Salsa

I don't usually eat hot salsa, but my husband loves hot salsa so I got this one for him. He said it was just perfect and he liked that it wasn't just hot, it was also very flavorable. I took a few bites and I have to agree with my husband, it is very flavorable, but was still a little too hot for me.

Garlic Salsa

We love garlic so I knew this would be a salsa we would love and I was right. This had the delicious salsa flavor added with a yummy roasted garlic taste. This salsa and the peach salsa are definitely my favorite salsas and this salsa was also pretty quick to go!

I love Mrs. Renfro's Gourmet Salsas and my only regret is that instead of the medium and hot salsa that I didn't get a different or more unusual flavor, such as the Pineapple Salsa or the Habanero Salsa. So now I think that I am going to have to go buy more so that way I can try all the wonderful flavors!
