Rubbermaid Bento Storage Boxes and Toppers Review & Giveaway (Open to US & Canada)

Since we moved into our new house, I have been trying to keep our home more organized. Even though we now have a lot more space, I still have some clutter around that I can't seem to find places for. That's why I was so excited when Rubbermaid asked if I would review their new Bento Storage Boxes and Toppers.

Rubbermaid Bento Boxes and Toppers help you divide and conquer your clutter. Instead of a container that you just store items in, Bento helps you organize. The Bento Boxes have flex dividers that pop open when needed and pop back when not.

The Bento Toppers also can be used in two distinctive ways. You can use it as a tray to display and contain items while resting on top of your Bento Box or you can use it on its own. For example, I used one of my Bento Box Toppers as a tray to hold our remote controls.

You can also use the Bento Toppers as a lid so you can hide things that you do not want everyone to see, but still have easy access to.

The Bento Boxes and toppers come in a variety of fabric designs and colors. We received the Bento Boxes and Toppers in Paprika and I love them! The boxes are designed to hold common household items such as DVD's, video games, mail, toys, hair care accessories, magazines, board games, crafting supplies, office supplies, etc. The boxes are stackable so you can get the most out of your space. They are covered in polyester so the boxes are durable and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

I love the Bento Boxes and Toppers and I immediately got to work organizing my home. Rubbermaid sent me some tips for creating organized active storage that works for you. They first suggest you determine where you need work by asking yourself simple questions. Ask yourself "What am I constantly looking for everyday? What items are cluttering up flat services in your home?" These answers will help you determine where you need to organize. Take a step back and explain why it is not working. Do you have a designated spot for something but you never seem to put that item there? Active storage should always be where you actually use the item. Once you establish a designated spot for your items, force yourself to follow through and put things away for 30 days, because that's how long it takes to make something a habit.

I decided to go with these tips and I started by looking in my family room to see what needed to be organized.

I saw blankets scattered everywhere and Tobin's cars all over the floor. Both of those things have places they are supposed to go, but they never seem to end up there. The place I had for the blankets was in an inconvenient spot so they rarely got put away. The cars were in a clear bucket that I kept in Tobin's playroom but he always brought it into our family room. I didn't like the container to be kept in our family room because I didn't like the way it looked. So I decided to use the Bento Boxes to help organize.

The Bento Boxes come in a set of 4 different sizes, so I still had two smaller boxes left. One was a rectangle shape which I decided would be perfect for my mail. We always put our mail on the counter and it just clutters up. Then when we have company I hide the mail and then forget where I put it. Not a great solution. Here is what my counter looked like before:

Now I use the Bento Box to store my mail and I place the box under our coffee table. It looks so much better and now I always know where our mail is.

The last box was a small, square box so I decided to use it in the baby's room. I have a variety of pacifiers that were just being thrown into drawers, but now I can store them in a cute little box.
