My Mommy-Free Trip

So last week I had the opportunity to go on my first trip without Tobin (and without my husband too). I got to go visit my best friend in Phoenix, Arizona. I had never left Tobin overnight before and I was going to be gone for 3 nights! My trip was a lot of fun! I got to do a lot of relaxing, go out to eat and eat yummy foods like delicious avocado and artichoke enchiladas...YUM!!! The weather was so gorgeous! It was in the 70's the whole time and I just couldn't believe I was wearing sandals and short sleeves in January! We went on lots of walks, shopping, out to the movies, and we even visited the Desert Botantical Gardens which were really cool.

I of course had to get Tobin a little gift and got him his very own cactus...which he loves!

My trip was a lot of fun and I was a little sad to leave since it was so nice to have so much freedom and I really enjoyed the break. BUT I was also so excited to get back to Tobin and my husband. I really missed Tobin, but he did awesome. I told him he could call me anytime he wanted to...and he really did! It was good practice for when I go to the hospital in a few months to have Noah. Before Noah comes, I would also like to take an overnight trip with my husband. So hopefully we can still manage to do that soon too. My husband did great with taking over my role as Mommy, but boy was he glad to have me back! He's still exhausted! So it was nice to hear him say how much he appreciates my role as a Mom and realizes how tiring it is. I love being a Mom, but this trip was definitely what I needed to recharge my batteries and get me ready to be a mom of 2!
