Holiday Gift Guide: Glee Gum Make Your Own Gummies Kit Review & Giveaway

**I received the product featured below free of charge in order to do an honest review. My thoughts are 100% my own**

My kids and I love projects, especially when it comes to food. I particularly love it when something is not only fun, but also educational. Glee Gum is a great company that makes natural chewing gum as well as awesome Make Your Own Candy Kits. We were thrilled when we had the opportunity to review the Make Your Own Gummies Kit.

Each candy kit is educational and eco-friendly and comes with natural ingredients, simple instructions, and a brief history. They are designed to connect you to the global community, capture your interest, and create something yummy to eat in the process. In the Make Your Own Gummies kit, you make the gummies out of seaweed. Everything you need is included in the kit and it's a lot easier than I thought it would be.

As many of you know, we are in the process of moving so when the kit arrived, I was in the middle of major packing. Tobin kept begging to make the gummies and finally I decided to look at the instructions. I was amazed that it really was not that difficult and wouldn't take up too much time. So we got everything out and got to work. We had misplaced the instructions, but fortunately you can find the instructions on the Glee Gum website.

First we poured the molding starch onto a plate and then we used our fingers and other household objects to make molds.

Next we emptied the powdered seaweed into a bowl and added water. Then we added the seaweed.

You can choose to use the microwave or the stove, but we chose to microwave. After a few minutes, the seaweed was ready to be removed. Next, we stirred the flavored, colored sugar packet in and microwaved it for another minute.

Then we poured the mixtures into our molds and put it in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes.

As we waited, I read the story about seaweed to Tobin which was very interesting and educational. Once time was up, we removed the gummies and ran them under water for a few seconds. Then we dried them and dipped them into the sour mix.

The great thing about the seaweed gel is that it's "thermally reversible" which means you can heat them again and again. So the fun doesn't have to end with just one batch of candies!

The Glee Gum Make Your Own Gummies would be great for the class room, birthday parties, scout troops, after school activities, home school, and they would definitely make excellent gifts this holiday season. The Make Your Own Candy Kits are available online at Glee Gum for $13.95 each. You can also check out the store locator to find a store near you that carries Glee Gum products.
